David Heath supports British Legion pledge

David Heath has given his support to the British Legion campaign which calls on MPs of this and the next Parliament to provide the necessary support to Veterans.

Many Veterans leave the Armed Forces with highly debilitating conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety disorders. These problems can surface many years after they have left the forces.

In the region of 17,500 individuals leave the Armed forces each year. Many of these people will have served in operational theatres, often in more than one theatre and often more than once.

Commenting, Mr Heath said: “Many Veterans and their families trying to cope alone. Clearly we need to provide greater after care to those who have served in the Armed Forces. This is something that I feel very committed to which is why I have given my support to the British Legion pledge.”
